Eclectic line-up locked in for Caloundra Music Festival 2017
Grab a drink, a pen and the Caloundra Music Festival program and start planning for four epic days of Sun, Surf and Soul at Caloundra Music Festival from September 29 to October 2.
Music fans won’t be disappointed with a stellar line-up including Ronan Keating, Xavier Rudd, Grinspoon, Wolfmother and Baby Animals set to headline this year’s CMF.
Festival Director Richie Eyles said he was excited about this year’s line-up and in true CMF form, it would appeal to all ages and tastes.
“Quality and eclectic best describes our line-up and that’s what we’ve delivered again this year,” Mr Eyles said.
“The cool kids are sure to enjoy the likes of Spiderbait, Drapht, Thundamentals, British India, Kingswood, Killing Heidi and Art Vs Science.
“Our blues, roots, funk and New Orleans followers will revel in our international line-up, including the iconic George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic (US), Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughs(UK), Old Crow Medicine Show (US), Valarie June (US) Erica Falls (US) and the Nth Power (US).
“The Black Sorrows, long-time CMF favourite Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and Pseudo Echo will appeal to our rockers.
“This year I’m especially proud of our strong local line-up, with many new faces and old favourites gracing the four stages.
“Whether it’s listening to a favourite band or discovering a new act our fans are sure to create some new music memories at this year’s CMF.”
Acting Mayor Tim Dwyer said CMF had developed into a significant event for the region.
“Since its inception in 2007, CMF has been a unique event that delivers positive economic, social and cultural benefits for Caloundra and the wider Sunshine Coast region,” Cr Dwyer said.
“We had 5500 local music lovers attend the inaugural CMF in 2007 and in 2016, more than 28,000 fans from all over Australia and overseas enjoyed the 10th Anniversary Festival.
“CMF is renowned for being a family friendly beach festival with a hard earned reputation for presenting quality and eclectic acts which appeal to a wide range of music lovers – in all age groups.”
